Who I work with

I work with general contractors and specialty contractors across the USA and Canada,
in the $1M to $20M range, including here in Philadelphia. Owners who are tired of being
the default escalation point on every change order and every crew issue.

Case Snapshot

Construction: From owner-bonded to company-bonded

The firm: 12-person construction firm, $3.5M in annual contract revenue.
The problem: The owner personally indemnified every bond and handled field supervision, admin, and bid management himself, which capped the firm at small private contracts.
What changed: The surety relationship was deepened with reviewed financials, WIP schedules, and completion history, and retained earnings stayed in the company to build working capital.
The result: Single-job bonding tripled from $500K to $1.5M and aggregate from $1.5M to $4.5M, opening public bid eligibility. Two state contracts totaling $1.4M followed.

The pattern I see most

Margins that erode after the job starts. Backlog and job mix that swing too much. An owner pulled into daily firefighting because nobody else has the authority to solve it.

What we do about it

We tighten project selection so you bid the work you actually want. We build
change-order discipline so margin holds from estimate to closeout. We give your PMs
and superintendents real authority, so problems get solved without you, and the work
that comes in is more predictable and better qualified.

The work that gets you there compounds over time with Significant Business Results.

Questions Business Owners Ask

Do you work with both general contractors and specialty trades?

Yes. General contractors and specialty contractors in the $1M to $20M range, in Philadelphia and across the USA and Canada. That includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, concrete, sitework, roofing, and interiors.

I don't have time to sit in coaching all day.

Good. The Business Growth Mastermind runs 50 minute group sessions once a week, and a 10 minute one to one call every fortnight. That is roughly 7 hours a month. Every session ends with a written recap and named action steps, so nothing rides on your memory, and what we build are systems your team runs rather than meetings you attend.

Is this only useful if I want to sell?

No. Most owners come to me for margin, cash flow, and owner dependency problems, not for a sale. A more valuable company is the byproduct, and it gives you options for succession, internal transition, private equity, or sale, whenever you choose. One 12 person contractor tripled aggregate bonding from $1.5M to $4.5M and opened public bid eligibility, which was worth two state contracts totalling $1.4M.

Where are you located?

Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. I work across the Philadelphia region and throughout the USA and Canada, over Zoom and in person.

How much does it cost?

The assessments are free. From there, two doors. If you want your Value Builder Score read and ranked, the Business Efficiency Assessment is $495: a 60 minute debrief and a written report. If you want your leaks priced and a plan to fix them, the Firm Health Snapshot is $1,500: a 60 minute working session that gives you a gap map, your two biggest leaks priced in dollars, and a ninety day plan, fully credited toward coaching booked within thirty days. The Scalability Finder Session is $875 and the Business Growth Mastermind runs ten weeks at $1,485. Coaching programs are scoped and priced on the Discovery Call.

Can coaching help if my surety won't raise my bonding line?

Usually, and usually not the way you expect. When the bonding is tied to the owner personally, the surety is not being difficult. It is pricing the risk correctly. The fix is to make the company bondable instead of the owner: reviewed financials, WIP schedules, completion history, and estimating that runs without you in the room. One 12 person contractor went from a $500K single job limit to $1.5M, and $1.5M aggregate to $4.5M, without ever switching sureties.

Who is this not for?

Three kinds of owner. If your firm is under $1 million and still finding its footing, you need clients more than a value plan. If a sale closes in the next ninety days, we are too late to change the number and I will say so. And if you truly do not want to let go of anything, no method fixes that, and I would rather tell you than take the check.
